You may have noticed already a new option called “child accounts” on your control panel.
The idea is that if you are a web designer managing a number of different “buddy” accounts - we would like to make your life easier!
So from your “parent” buddy account, you can now login to any of your child accounts with one click. Not only that, you can also manage your child subscriptions from one place and benefit from our new discount scheme.
The discount scheme is based on the number of subscriptions you have to all of our “buddy” applications (see “more web software” on your control panel). And this includes the subscriptions of any child accounts you manage as well.
- 2-4 subscriptions 10%
- 5-9 subscriptions 20%
- 10 plus subscriptions 30%
The “co-branding” feature of Web-form-buddy is now easier to manage too. Again it is all done from your parent account now with any changes you make propagating automatically to your child accounts.
We hope to expand on the co-branding feature in coming months - so any suggestions you have would be most welcome!
We have an additional payment method now for Web-form-buddy and Web-store-buddy : payment by money order.
The next one we’ll be looking to add is Google Checkout.
Web-form-buddy has the option to serialize your forms. We’ve now added the ability to set the serial number to any value you choose.
If you use payment forms, Web-form-buddy also generates a unique, sequential order number for each payment. Now you can set or reset the order number at any time.
There are some occasions where it it might be appropriate to allow the person submitting the form to choose who will receive the form data. For example you might have a general inquiry form and it would be nice if your client could choose whether to send the inquiry to “sales“, “support” or “accounts” .
Now with Web-form-buddy this is easy - and, as is always the case with Web-form-buddy, you never have to add email addresses to your web pages where they can be harvested by spammers!
When you select “data options” and create or modify the list of recipients for your form you will see the new option. If you enable runtime selection, then once the form data is completed Web-form-buddy will display a “secondary screen” to your web user which both provides a helpful summary of the form submission and allows them to pick the recipient (or several recipients if you choose the multiple selection option).
The Web-form-buddy “secondary screens” are 100% customizable and can even be embedded in one of your own web pages. (See “global options” >> “color & style settings“).
A while back we added the capability to have an offer coupon. In other words the Web-store-buddy shopping cart allows the customer to enter a special code you have supplied them which qualifies the customer for, say, a 10% discount.
This has been working very well, so we’ve now added some more features:
- You can have regular (non-coupon) offers that apply to all shoppers.
- You can have multiple coupon or regular offers running at the same time
- You can set a minimum order value that qualifies for the offer
- You can set a start date and an expiry date for the offer
Examples might be:
“Save 10% on all orders over $100 in November!”
Or
“Enter voucher code ABC001 to get $15 off!”
We have now added support for Google Anaytics E-Commerce Tracking to Web-store-buddy.
Google analytics is both very powerful and free! When combined with Web-store-buddy you can get really useful e-commerce statistics - including revenue, conversion rates, average order value, product performance, transactions, visits to purchase, days to purchase, etc.
To enable Google Analytics with Web-store-buddy, all you need do is enter your Google Analytics ID on your control panel and you’re done.
Web-form-buddy has a new feature that allows you to set a minimum payment amount for use with your payment forms.
You can use this feature if you have chosen the payment form option in which the total price is calculated from the choices made by your customer from your form. Or you can use it if you have selected the payment mode in which the customer enters the price to pay themselves (e.g. for donation forms).
The Refer-a-buddy tell-a-friend email can be sent in either plain text or as a styled, HTML email.
Previously we had offered a range of fixed designs for the referral email. Now however we have launched a more flexible option that allows you to specify any fonts or colors you like. You can now also take advantage of various types of CSS borders to create different email design effects.
With Web-form-buddy payment forms you can assign a price to specific fields in your form. Web-form-buddy will calculate the order total from data entered in these fields (text fields) or from the choices made with these fields (check boxes).
Now you can also assign prices to the values of radio buttons. The advantage of this is that you can easily handle choices that are alternatives.

We are pleased to announce that the maximum size for a file upload with Web-form-buddy has been increased from 10Mb to 25Mb.
Some ISPs have trouble accepting emails larger then 10Mb. For that reason, if you have opted for delivery of your form’s data by email, then if you have a file attachment larger than 10Mb, Web-form-buddy will automatically switch to “archive” mode. That means that you will receive an email alert with instructions as to how to log on and download the uploaded file.
