The Refer-a-buddy “tell a friend” window is available in various color schemes. We have just done a “spring clean” to tidy up and improve the CSS styles that are used. The window size is slightly larger too, as it was not appearing quite right in all browsers.

If you have Refer-a-buddy installed on your site using code that references “https://www.smallgreentree.net/js/rab0308.js” then you’re up to date and need take no action. But if you’re a long time user of Refer-a-buddy we recommend strongly that you update your web pages to the latest code. This is available by logging into your control panel and selecting “setup“.

The Refer-a-buddy tell-a-friend email can be sent in either plain text or as a styled, HTML email.

Previously we had offered a range of fixed designs for the referral email. Now however we have launched a more flexible option that allows you to specify any fonts or colors you like. You can now also take advantage of various types of CSS borders to create different email design effects.

We have just made an update to the code for web pages that use Refer-a-buddy tell a friend buttons or text links.

The old code will continue to work, but the new code offers two improvements:

• Better automatic positioning of the referral form popup in the user’s browser window
• A better looking script URL that incorporates your web site’s domain name.

Today we have launched a new and we hope “much improved” control panel for our  refer-a-buddy tell a friend application.

Apart from a better look & feel there’s now more support for using your own tell a friend button design, including a wizard that will generate the refer-a-buddy code from any graphic on your server.

We have just increased the size limit for the refer-a-buddy owner-defined referral text from 200 characters to 250 characters.
